Notice Description
The Common Services Agency (known as National Services Scotland) ('the Authority')acting through its division National Procurement is undertaking this procurement of Haemodialysis Machines (including consumables, accessories and maintenance)('Products') on behalf of all entities constituted pursuant to the National Health Service (Scotland) Act, 1978 (i.e. NHS Scotland Health Boards, Special Health Boards and the Authority or other NHS Organisation established pursuant to the NHS(Scotland) Act, 1978), any integrated joint boards established pursuant to the new Public Bodies (Joint Working)Scotland Act, 2014 The Products will be split into 7 Lots, each of which are identified below: Lot 1 -- Unit Based Haemodialysis Machines (Inc. Accessories, Parts, Consumables and Maintenance) Lot 2 -- Home Based Haemodialysis Machines (Inc. Accessories, Parts, Consumables and Maintenance) Lot 3 -- High Flux Dialysers Lot 4 -- HDF Dialysers Lot 5 -- Low Flux Dialysers Lot 6 - Generic Consumables Lot 7 - Needles

Home Based Haemodialysis Machines (Including Accessories, Parts, Consumables and Maintenance)
The supply of Haemodialysis Machines (including consumables, accessories and maintenance) for removing waste and excess water from the blood, and is used primarily as an artificial replacement for lost kidney function in people with renal failure. Haemodialysis Machines within this Lot will be used within Patients Homes.
High Flux DialysersSingle use High Flux Membrane Dialysers for filtering blood during haemodialysis treatments.
HDF DialysersSingle use HDF Dialysers for filtering blood during haemodialysis treatments.
Low Flux DialysersSingle use Low Flux Membrane Dialysers for filtering blood during haemodialysis treatments
Generic ConsumablesThe supply of generic non-dedicated Haemodialysis Consumables including; Bloodlines, Acid Concentrate, Bicarbonate and Cleaning Products.
NeedlesSingle use Fistula Needles, Buttonhole Needles and Safety Needles for use during haemodialysis treatments
Unit Based Haemodialysis Machines (Including Accessories, Parts, Consumables and Maintenance)The supply of Haemodialysis Machines (including consumables, accessories and maintenance) for removing waste and excess water from the blood, and is used primarily as an artificial replacement for lost kidney function in people with renal failure. Haemodialysis Machines within this Lot will be used within NHS Scotland Hospitals and Satellite Renal Units.
Procurement Information
This VEAT notice is to advise the need for modification to meet the additional demands of the Scottish Health and Social Care sector during the current Covid-19 pandemic and to maintain necessary supply and remove unnecessary disruption from the Authority at this time in line with Regulation 72(1)(b) of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015
