Ardrossan North Shore - Enabling Works (Market Engagement)
Notice Description
North Ayrshire Council have an enabling works requirement that involves the preparation of the Ardrossan North Shore brownfield site for subsequent development and regeneration. This contract will prepare the site for the Education Campus and other subsequent developments. The enabling infrastructure works will include land remediation, coastal revetment, coastal footpath, spine road, drainage and utilities in advance of Educational Campus, Commercial Campus and residential plots which form part of the site masterplan. Marina extension works comprising offshore breakwaters and dredging may also be added to the scope. These works may be tendered as a whole package or broken down into the three work packages as described in the accompanying documents with further potential to divide the works across the two areas described and marked Education Campus and Marina Campus. This is subject to confirmation. It is anticipated that this market engagement exercise with contractors and development of a fresh contract strategy will allow a clearer decision to be made on the works packages and an assessment of related opportunities and risks. Works are currently estimated to commence in June 2023 with completion in April 2024. However this has to be confirmed and could be subject to change. The form of contract is likely to be New Engineering Contract (NEC) - NEC4 ECC Option A. Further information on the requirements of the project can be found in the attached documents. The estimated budget on this notice is for all elements (including the marina works) and is subject to funding. This will be a re-tender process.
