The CNPA wishes to contract professional landscape services to provide occasional landscape advice to the planning team on planning case work and woodland adviser on forestry grant applications. The CNPA has the authority to act as the planning authority for the determination of planning applications. All planning applications in the National Park continue to be made to the relevant local authority and the CNPA is notified by the local authorities of any planning applications made. Each week the CNPA decide if it will call in planning application that it considers are of significance to the aims of the National Park. The CNPA calls in about 8% of the planning applications made within the National Park. All planning applications in the National Park are considered against the Cairngorms National Park Local Development Plan, irrespective of whether they are determined by the local authority planning teams or by the CNPA. We are also consultees for woodland grant applications and provide opinions and advice on these to Scottish Forestry and applicants.
