Notice Title

RSPB Lochwinnoch: Crassula eradication 2022

Notice Description

Tenders are invited for infilling a pond containing the plant Crassula helmsii, to permanently bury the plant without causing spread to other parts of the RSPB reserve and SSSI. Crassula helmsii is an invasive non-native species (INNS) and in Scotland it is an offence to plant or cause it to grow in a wild location outside its native range. New colonies of the plant can start from small sections of stem or leaves, so procedures will be required to eliminate the spread of even small fragments via transfer on machinery, personnel, in water or via any other route.
