The 2021-22 Programme for Government and NSET included a commitment to introduce legislation on Community Wealth Building (CWB) within this Parliamentary session. The 2022-23 Programme for Government included a commitment to hold a consultation on CWB legislation. A consultation was launched on 31 January and will run until 25 April 2023 (12 weeks).The aim of the consultation is to inform the development of legislation on CWB. The consultation exercise received Cabinet approval in December 2022.The purpose of the project is to produce a clear and concise report for publication, which reflects a robust and systematic analysis of the responses to the consultation. The analysis should provide a detailed overview of the key issues raised in response to the consultation questions, reflecting the range and depth of views, as well as identifying key themes that emerge.
