Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government has awarded a contract to Mott MacDonald for the Grangemouth Flood Protection Scheme Review. The procurement method was direct, with the contract awarded to a single supplier without competition. The tender period started on 25th April 2023 and ended on 5th June 2023. The review is a services category procurement process and involves a high-level report on the proposed works and costs, additional options, and alternative approaches.

This tender presents business growth opportunities for consulting firms specialised in flood-prevention works and high-level review services. Companies suited for this tender should have expertise in providing detailed reports, analysing construction projects, and working closely with government bodies. The procurement process is currently at the award stage, and businesses interested in similar opportunities should monitor the Scottish Government's future procurements in the services category.

Notice Title

Award of GFPSR-2023 - Grangemouth Flood Protection Scheme Review

Notice Description

Scottish Ministers are seeking a report on Falkirk Council's (FC) recommendation for the Grangemouth Flood Protection Scheme (GFPS). This report it to comment on;-* the proposed works and costs of the GFPS;* whether any additional possible options have not been considered;* whether alternative approaches could be introduced to reduce scope, cost or timeframes;* and recommendations as to ways forwards. The work is intended to be a high level review and is likely to be desk based. However, we would recommend further discussion be undertaken with the FC project team to confirm this. Given this high level focus the work is anticipated to take around 2 months to complete it and prepare a report for submission to Scottish Minsters. The work should commence as soon as possible upon the start of the contract.Further information is available in the attached document.
