Notice Title

ScotRail Route Mapping and Videos

Notice Description

Route DVDs and Maps are used by staff to ensure that they are aware of all routes that they work over including speeds, locations and restrictions. The maps currently in use were supplied 12-14 years ago and as a result ScotRail wishes to engage with a supplier to provide updated maps across the network. Further, ScotRail also require that the supplier provide route videos. We would be looking for a supplier who has the ability to use current footage that ScotRail have shot over several routes if the quality is high enough and in instances where this is not the case, provide ScotRail with the equipment to film other routes that are still required. Further, where routes may be more challenging to film, ScotRail would require that the supplier provide an individual to attend and film. In these instances, ScotRail will provide cab passes and duty passes. The route footage will be overlaid with all addition route information required, such as line speed, location, signals and routings. Route footage should be stored either by the suppler on the cloud and made accessible to all ScotRail employees or stored by ScotRail. With the current increase in required driver numbers as well as the turnover of staff expected in the coming years driver recruitment numbers will be exceptionally high with this year alone 160 new drivers being trained. Therefore, we would like to work with the supplier to ensure that maps and videos are updated quickly. ScotRail are looking to work with a supplier who has experience of mapping and videos for the rail industry.
