The University of Strathclyde seeks notes of interest from suppliers able to provide an environmental test chamber assembly, capable of carrying out tests on a variety of power systems equipment across various sectors of industry, including maritime, aerospace and transport. This tender forms part of a larger expansion programme, enhancing the multi-vector energy systems capability within the Power Networks Demonstration Centre (PNDC), one of the University of Strathclyde's off-campus research & development facilities. The University is seeking notes of interest for a tender opportunity for the supply, delivery and commissioning of an environmental test chamber. 1.The tender is for the supply of an environmental test chamber assembly capable of testing equipment under variable temperature and humidity conditions. 2.The succesful supplier is expected to provide the environmental test chamber and any ancilliary equipment needed to meet the requirements of the tender as a turn-key solution. 3.The succesful succesful supplier is expected to deliver all necessary equipment to the University, carry out all required on-site assembly and associated functional testing. 4.The chamber assembly should have 25m3 of useable internal space for test equipment under variable temperature and humidity conditions. 5.The system must be capable of temperature ranges from -40oC to +90oC, with a rate of change of up to 4oC per min for heating and cooling under test conditions. 6.The system should be capable of relative humidity conditions from 10 to 95% in the climatic range of +10oC to +95oC. 7.The system shall be monitored by a safety PLC system that manages all conditions in line with a dedicated safety matrix. 8.The environmental chamber shall have two operation modes: a) via a graphical user interface, and b) via an automated system connected via TCP/IP Modbus or alternative industrial communication protocol. 9.The exterior housing shall be coated steel, with the chamber's inner wall being stainless steel. 10.Access to the environmental chamber shall be via a double door with 180 degrees' opening angle. Each door shall have its own viewing window. 11.The environmental chamber shall include port holes to allow the connection of cables, cooling equipment, etc, to the devices under test. 12.The contract scope will include supply, delivery, commissioning, ongoing UK-based support and warranty..
