Award of Head of Data & Analytics
Notice Description
As Head of Data and Analytics on the corporate shared service programme and within the Corporate Transformation Directorate, you will be responsible for both transactional and analytical data architectures.You will own the Data, MI and Analytics strategy for corporate shared services and make sure that this strategy is implemented within the transformation programme so that Scottish Government and other shared services customer organisations can be truly data driven.You will define the target data architecture and data migration approach for the new corporate shared services solutions. These solutions will be primarily delivered using SaaS and other cloud-based services. There are a significant number of integrations in the existing architecture that will need to be addressed.A major part of the transformation is to create an MI, analytics and visualisation capability that will be critical to better use of corporate data. This capability will be supported by the introduction of DataOps / Reproduceable Analytical Pipeline techniques and technologies. You will lead on technical aspects of this part of the programme.You will also be heavily involved in establishing appropriate governance structures, processes and use of tools in the broader field of data & information management, including a focus on improving data quality before, during and after transformation.In order to deliver the above, you will need to develop a team with appropriate skills to enable data transformation for both the programme and the Directorate.
