NatureScot are conducting a pilot project aiming to increase insight into deer populations by improving data collection methods and the information available for cull planning. We are looking to develop a mobile application as a means to: (1) Improve the quality and quantity of information collected (2) Streamline data recording and aid stalking practitioners to collect useful information while reducing the administrative burden of statutory cull returns (3) Improve verification and venison traceability from point of cull This pilot project will develop and test the application with our deer management staff based across three National Nature Reserve larders: Creag Meagaidh, Beinn Eighe and Rum. NatureScot are looking to develop a mobile application as a means to: (1) Improve the quality and quantity of information collected (2) Streamline data recording and aid stalking practitioners to collect useful information while reducing the administrative burden of statutory cull returns (3) Improve verification and venison traceability from point of cull.
