We are looking for a freelance educator/engagement worker to coordinate and deliver a pilot programme working with some local primary schools for 80 hours between April and October 2024 to develop new self-led schools' resources for Benmore Botanic Garden. The short-term aim of the pilot programme is to work with local teachers and pupils to develop self-led learning resources to support school visits to Benmore Botanic Garden. The longer-term outcome will be to have resources available to support self-led visits by schools at times of the year of their own choosing in order to extend schools' engagement with Benmore Botanic Garden. This role will involve learning more about Benmore Botanic Garden, developing relationships with local schools, consulting with teachers and pupils, leading workshops both in local schools and at Benmore Botanic Garden, coordinating a teacher familiarisation event, and developing self-led resources for schools. It will also involve writing an end-of-project report in early November 2024. This project is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Hugh Fraser Foundation. Additional hours to work with wider audiences may become available if further funding is secured from other sources - any extension in hours would be agreed between both parties. PVG Disclosure will be required..
