Summary of the contracting process

Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL) has concluded a procurement process titled "CCTV Upgrade Maintenance and Repair", focusing on the transport sector. The contract involves routine planned on-site maintenance, remote and on-site reactive repairs, upgrades, and support for CCTV cameras and servers located at 26 sites, including remote islands in the West of Scotland and Clyde Estuary. The procurement followed an open procedure and the project has now reached the contract award stage, with the contract signed on 12th November 2024. The total value of the contract amounts to £926,391.48 GBP, and the process included the submission of electronic bids due by 31st July 2024.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses involved in security and surveillance systems, particularly those with expertise in CCTV maintenance and repair. The awarded contract to Scottish Communications, an SME, demonstrates a preference for qualified firms capable of supporting both existing Bosch Video Management Software systems and proposed solutions. Businesses that can meet the stringent technical, economic, and suitability criteria, including holding specific certifications and insurance levels, would be well-suited to compete in similar procurement processes. The extensive scope of work covering multiple locations and the potential for additional service requests offers a substantial business development opportunity.
