Notice Description

The purpose of this Contract is to provide Timber Harvesting and Extraction Services. These services will assist FLS in achieving the targets for the management of the SNFL: production of timber for sales; felling trees for tree health purposes and notified Statutory Plant Health Notices (SPHNs); and, felling in preparation for peatland restoration. These services are required across the West region of SNFL.

Lot 1

The purpose of this Contract is to provide Timber Harvesting and Extraction Services. These services will assist FLS in achieving the targets for the management of the SNFL: production of timber for sales; felling trees for tree health purposes and notified Statutory Plant Health Notices (SPHNs); and, felling in preparation for peatland restoration. These services are required in the West region of SNFL.

Procurement Information

FLS has a committed sales target which cannot be completed without this work being undertaken. The delivery of this requirement is beyond the production capacity of FLS's internal direct production and existing harvesting contract. The supplier being awarded this contract has capacity to carry out the work and can start in line with these timescales, and this represents the best option to allow FLS to increase production at short notice. A new Harvesting and Extraction contract is currently out to tender, with an anticipated go-live date in October. It is expected that all future requirements from that date will be met from the new tendered contract.
