Having 2 equivalent 4-laser systems will allow the facility to maximise the use during working hours, reducing the need for out-of-hours bookings due to high demand. It will also allow the facility to safeguard against any downtime due to potential instruments faults, which is essential for longitudinal studies our users are carrying out.

Procurement Information

The purchase consists of 2 units, one of which is an upgrade to an existing instrument which will be traded in. The University requires consistency in data output, including for clinical trials, with the new equipment providing higher quality output and further capacity with a second unit. The supplier is the exclusive reseller in the UK, and the only one that can provide this equipment.
