Summary of the contracting process

The West of Scotland Housing Association Ltd is planning a procurement process for the conversion and refurbishment of a "B" listed building located at 30-34 St Enoch's Square, Glasgow. The location, situated within the 'Central Area' Conservation Area, has been stripped back to its structural shell and will be converted into approximately 22 to 26 affordable flats for mid-market rent. This procurement, categorised under Housing and community amenities, is currently in the planning stage, with key details including a future notice date set for 27 September 2024. The procurement falls under the works category, with an estimated contract value of £4.5 million.

This tender presents a significant business opportunity for contractors with expertise in historical building refurbishments and mid-market housing projects. Ideal candidates will be those capable of engaging in a two-stage procurement process, involving early design development to address complex conversion challenges collaboratively. Companies experienced in similar projects who can provide certainty in construction methods, cost, and programme timelines will be well-suited to compete. Interested contractors are encouraged to participate by completing the brief and questionnaire provided, demonstrating their capacity and experience to inform the most effective procurement route for the project.
