SOUTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL

This public procurement record has 1 release in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

South Lanarkshire Council has awarded a contract for the supply, installation, and maintenance of traffic counting equipment to Clearview Intelligence Ltd. The contract, which follows a restricted procedure method, falls under the general public services and education industry categories. The procurement process is at the award stage, with a contract period from 2nd August 2024 to 1st August 2029, with an option to extend for up to 24 months. The project will be implemented within the region of South Lanarkshire, specifically within the localities governed by the council. Key dates include the signing of the contract on 2nd August 2024. The anticipated value of the contract is £958,754.47, and it includes community benefits requirements, demanding Clearview Intelligence Ltd to achieve a minimum of 80 community benefit points as specified by the Council.

This procurement presents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for companies specialising in traffic management and maintenance services. SMEs that can provide advanced vehicle detection and data collection technology are well-positioned to benefit from such contracts. Moreover, businesses with expertise in fulfilling community benefits will find this contract aligns with their capabilities, as it mandates contributions to local community welfare. Given the scope of work and the extended period, companies providing regular maintenance and installation services in the transport sector stand a good chance of leveraging this contract for sustained growth. The project is pivotal for the Council's compliance with The Road Traffic Reduction Act 1997, involving the monitoring and forecasting of traffic levels to set and achieve future traffic reduction targets.
