Summary of the contracting process

RSPB Scotland is seeking quotes for remedial works on trees affected by ash dieback and other defects at RSPB Lochwinnoch, Largs Road, Lochwinnoch, PA12 4JF. This tender, titled "RSPB Lochwinnoch - ITQ Ash Dieback Mgmt," falls under the industry category of Environmental protection. The procurement process is in the Tender stage with an open procedure, inviting written submissions. Key dates to note include the tender period ending on 18th September 2024 at 12:00 PM, with the contract period expected to start on 1st October 2024 and conclude by 31st December 2024. The project may involve road, path, and railway line closures, which will be arranged by RSPB for the railway line and by the contractor for roads and paths.

This tender presents substantial business growth opportunities for contractors specialising in tree surgery, environmental protection, and habitat management. Companies experienced in managing infrastructure closures and conducting ecological surveys, such as bat surveys, will be well-suited to compete for this contract. Given the complexity of the task, including the need to create bat habitat features from standing deadwood, businesses with capabilities in both conservation and operational management stand to benefit significantly. Interested suppliers can leverage their expertise in environmental works to meet the detailed requirements specified by RSPB Scotland, ensuring competitive advantage in the public procurement landscape.
