Summary of the contracting process

The RSPB Scotland is initiating a tender process for the "Bridge Repairs Inversnaid 2024" project, targeting the environmental protection sector. The project involves repairing two argocat bridges at the RSPB Inversnaid Reserve, located at Garrison Farm, Inversnaid, Stirling, FK8 3TU. Key activities include replacing all wooden elements of the bridges with timber suitably treated for external conditions and reviewing the condition of the steelwork and concrete abutments. The procurement is currently in the tender stage with submissions due electronically by 22nd October 2024 at 09:00. The contract period is expected to run from 28th October 2024 to 31st January 2025.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in bridge construction and repair, particularly those with expertise in working with timber and galvanised steel in remote locations. Companies offering environmentally conscious solutions and possessing robust project management capabilities to handle complex logistical challenges in remote areas will find this tender appealing. Given the specific nature of the work, including the need for on-site visits, businesses experienced in similar infrastructure projects within protected environmental reserves are highly encouraged to participate.
