Notice Description

This project covers the refurbishment of building 135 within the Meadowforth site to provide a building suitable for multiple uses, including a film studio. The Meadowforth site now owned by Stirling Council was previously MOD Forthside and building 135 was historically utilised for vehicle storage and maintenance.Building 135 is circa 14,700m2 NIA and is split into distinct areas which will become five individual stage areas, two workshop areas and associated stores and welfare facilities.Owing to the previous MOD ownership, the building was crown exempt and therefore this project seeks to refurbish the building to enable a building warrant to be obtained as well as to undertake various upgrades and improvement works.The scope of works will comprise fabric upgrades, improved fire safety elements, improved welfare facilities, modernisation of services, provision of two new transformers to increase power capacity.
