Summary of the contracting process

Scottish Forestry procured services to operate and maintain the UK Land Carbon Registry. The registry records carbon credits accurately, securely and transparently under the Woodland Carbon Code and Peatland Code. These schemes support private finance for woodland creation and peatland restoration, contributing to the UK’s climate and biodiversity commitments. If subcontracting, they would need robust supply-chain tracking and payment systems, including evidence of prompt invoice payment or a director-approved improvement plan.
