The City of Glasgow has a portfolio of outdoor sculptural bronze which matches or exceeds any city in the UK outside of London. As part of the wider George Square redevelopment proposals, the eleven bronze statues including two equestrian statues currently situated in George Square are to be conserved. The nine seated or standing statues and their plinths are to be removed, conserved and reinstated in new locations. The two equestrian statues are to be removed but their plinths are to remain in their current location. In addition to the conservation of the statues the bronze elements to the Cenotaph are also to be conserved..
