FORESTRY AND LAND SCOTLAND

This public procurement record has 1 release in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS), based in Inverness, has completed a procurement process for the "Glenbuck Phase 2&3" project, focusing on Woodland Establishment services. The contract was awarded on 9th January 2024 and involves significant environmental protection efforts, spanning 296.45 hectares at Glenbuck. The procurement followed an open procedure under Lot 2 of the Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) Woodland Establishment across Scotland (Ref FW0049). The awarded contract, valued at GBP 1,583,415.08, was part of the service category and addresses significant environmental and restoration work, including tree planting and site maintenance. FLS will manage the forestry works for all Lot 2 Call-off Contracts, ensuring compliance with the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM) where applicable.

This tender presents considerable opportunities for companies involved in forestry, environmental protection, and bio-remediation works. Businesses skilled in forestry operations such as tree planting, chemical weeding, and soil remediation can find valuable growth opportunities through such contracts. Particularly well-suited are SMEs that demonstrate capability in environmental restoration and maintenance under regulatory frameworks, as evidenced by the awarded supplier, Michael Ramage Forestry, an SME based in Melrose. Engaging with FLS's DPS frameworks can pave the way for further contracts in diverse environmental projects across Scotland.
