Ground Preparation and Associated Works on Crown Estate Scotland's Applegirth Estate
Notice Description
The service will predominantly involve carrying out approximately 53.24 hectares (ha) of hinge mounding works across four sites and reinstatement works on a fifth site. One site consists of purely commercial compartments within the Dundoran Plantation, to be mounded @ 2700 mounds/hectares (ha). The remaining three sites Blaze, Swarlings and Wamphray Parish Church Plantations are predominantly mixed commercial with broadleaf edge riparian planting @ 2700 mounds/ha and 1600 mounds/ha respectively. Maintenance to existing or creation of site access as well as drainage maintenance may also will be required. Reinstatement works only are required in the Wamphraymoor Plantation.

Block 1 - Commercial Restock Dundoran Plantation (Compartments (Cpts). 37-52) - 37.36ha Hinge mounded approximately 37.36ha @ 2700 mounds/ha. Individual cpts. areas: 37 - 2.08ha, 38 - 2.18ha, 41 - 4.56ha, 42, 45, 49, 51 - 24.32ha 48 - 2.05ha, & 52 - 2.17ha Reinstatement of timber extraction routes to facilitate All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) access, clearing of ditches adjacent to main forest track and V ditching as required. Blaze Plantation (Cpt 61) - 3.66ha Hinge mounded approximately 3.66ha @ 2700 mounds/ha. Reinstatement of timber extraction route to facilitate ATV access as required. Block 2 - Commercial and Broadleaf Edge Restock Swarlings Plantation (Cpt 67) Commercial with broadleaf riparian edge planting - 7.76ha Hinge mounded approximately 6.26ha @ 2700 mounds/ha and 1.5ha @ 1600 mounds/ha Create site access points across ditches for ATV's and excavators (twin walled pipes will be required) Reinstatement of timber extraction routes to facilitate ATV access, clearing of ditches/drains as required. Wamphray Parish Church Plantation (Cpt 59) Commercial with broadleaf riparian edge planting - 4.46ha Hinge mounded approximately 3ha @ 2700 mounds/ha and 1.46ha @ 1600 mounds/ha Reinstatement of timber extraction routes to facilitate ATV access, clearing of ditches/drains as required Creation of access point for ATV's by timber landing area Tidying up timber stacking benches adjacent to timber landing area Wamphraymoor Plantation (Cpt 64) Reinstatement of a small part of a public right of way path that crosses the compartment access (linked to the activity below) Levelling/tidying of a timber extraction route adjacent to footpath
