Summary of the contracting process

The SRUC, a central purchasing body in Edinburgh, has completed the procurement process for a framework agreement focused on the supply and installation of network cabling across its campuses and regional offices. This procurement process adopted an open procedure under the goods category for SRUC, known for its expertise in higher education, further education, research, and consultancy. The process involved an active tender stage concluded with the awarding of contracts as of 31st July 2025, following the tender period which ended on 4th July 2025. Successful bids were evaluated based on criteria including price and professional ability, providing an opportunity for multiple suppliers to be appointed under distinct lots such as "Scotland, Central", providing services to regions denoted by the UKM postcodes.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses involved in network infrastructure, offering potential growth through a framework agreement that encourages regular participation in mini-competitions. Particularly, SMEs like Computer Links and JLCom Ltd, which benefit from their appointments in the awarded lots, can expand their service footprint significantly. The procurement seeks suppliers with industry accreditations, which include manufacturer accreditation alongside other recognised standards, enabling businesses equipped with these credentials to readily engage and potentially secure a position in future competitions within the framework’s lifespan of four years.
