The Scottish Government has been progressively expanding eligibility for free school meals to ensure children and young people have access to nutritious food at school, supporting their wellbeing, learning, and development. This phased expansion now provides universal free school meals for all pupils in P1 to P5 and special schools, as well as eligible pupils in P6 and P7
