The Council has a 5 year capital Programme to replace ICT devices. The overall programme objective is to replace an estimated 13,000 devices over the 5 year timeframe, 10,500 devices in schools as well as 2,500 devices in corporate functions including libriaries and One Stop Shops, Leisure Centres. Windows PC & Laptop devices are required to be replaced as they reach end of life and their Microsoft operating system becomes unsupported resulting in a security risk to the Council network. All windows devices are required to have their operating system fully updated with security patches and application updates to reduce any security risk and also to ensure compliance with PSN (Public Sector Network) regulations.
