Summary of the contracting process

Historic Environment Scotland, a national agency based in Edinburgh, is actively seeking tenders for the "Term Roped Access Geotechnical Framework". This project focuses on providing roped access rock face inspections and related geotechnical services within the United Kingdom, specifically in the UKM region. The procurement is categorised under works, with an estimated contract value of £400,000. The tender is currently in the active stage, with submissions being accepted electronically until midday on 18 July 2025. Following this, the award period for the contract will also commence on 18 July 2025. A framework agreement is being pursued, with the possibility of up to four-year terms, initially three years with an optional one-year extension.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses experienced in geotechnical engineering and roped access services to establish a framework agreement with Historic Environment Scotland. It is suited for companies that possess the required financial stability and insurance coverages – including Employers Liability and Public Liability Insurance of at least £5 million and Professional Risk Indemnity of £1 million. The project, due to its scope and scale, is particularly inviting for businesses capable of handling comprehensive services including de-vegetation and rock remedial works. Companies with a robust financial standing and relevant expertise in providing specialised geotechnical services will find this tender beneficial for growth in the public sector market.
