Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is currently inviting tenders for the "Temporary Crewing Framework," a procurement initiative managed through Marine Scotland. This open procedure seeks to establish a multi-supplier framework to provide temporary crew services valued at GBP 7,700,000. The tender is currently at the tender stage, and submissions must be made electronically by 4th August 2025. The procurement is categorised under "General public services," with services primarily delivered in the UKM region, particularly impacting areas such as Glasgow and Edinburgh. The framework will run for an initial three years, with the possibility of a 12-month extension.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses certified by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, particularly those with experience in managing temporary crews in maritime environments. Suitable bidders will demonstrate solid financial ratios, insurance coverage, and robust quality and environmental management systems. The framework allows for a maximum of two contractors, offering SMEs a stable platform to expand their service portfolio further. This tender also emphasises community benefits, encouraging bidders to include employment and training schemes as part of their service delivery, making them appealing to diverse businesses focused on community growth and collaboration in their service chains.
