Summary of the contracting process

The City of Edinburgh Council has initiated an open procurement process for a Framework Agreement titled "Natural Stone Products for Roads and Footways". This agreement encompasses four lots, focusing on different types of stone materials—Caithness Stone Paviors, Hard Sandstone (Yorkstone Scoutmoor), Granite Setts, and Whinstone Recycling. The procurement falls under the category of general public services, relevant to the region UKM75, particularly benefiting the City of Edinburgh. The tender stage is currently active, with a submission deadline set for 22 September 2025. Interested participants should note the framework's two-year duration, with potential extensions totaling up to two additional years. This opportunity is governed under an open procedure, allowing electronic submissions through Public Contracts Scotland's platform.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in supplying natural stone materials, offering a chance to engage with a local authority dedicated to maintaining its city's aesthetic heritage. Companies that specialize in stone paviors, setts, kerbs, and recycling would find this contract particularly advantageous. The framework's emphasis on quality and adherence to Edinburgh's heritage standards means that businesses with a strong track record in these areas are well-suited to compete. Additionally, with the potential inclusion of community benefits such as targeted recruitment and environmental improvements, participants can contribute to broader societal goals, further enhancing their corporate reputation and local engagement.
