Summary of the contracting process

Dumfries and Galloway College has awarded a Framework Agreement for the Provision of Associate Trainers to deliver courses across several categories such as Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, and Management, among others. The procurement process involved an open procedure for services in the education sector and has reached the award and contract stages as of 17 March 2026. The agreement encompasses in-person and online classroom delivery, work-based learning qualifications, and online learning resources with a scheduled procurement term until potentially 4 January 2028. Activities are centred around Dumfries and Stranraer, with proposed locations within these regions. This recent award marks the next step after the tender process began on 4 September 2025, with submissions closing on 24 October 2025.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in training and educational services, notably small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as demonstrated by the involvement of various SME suppliers like Tickety Boo Training and Genesis OHS Ltd in the awards. With options to expand service offerings within the framework and a potential value reaching £729,000, enterprises focusing on sectors such as Health and Safety, Management, and Facility Services can leverage this to advance their market presence and capabilities. The inclusion of varied lots provides flexibility for businesses to adapt their training programs and strategically grow their service portfolio, thereby capitalising on anticipated demand and procurement cycle extensions.
