Notice Title
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance System
Notice Description
A dual-purpose solid- and liquid-state 400 MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) system, including spectrometer console, magnet, solid- and liquid-state probes, automated sample changer, variable-temperature capability and other ancillary equipment required to operate the system.
Lot Information
Lot 1
The full details were set out in the documentation issued for the framework mini-competition. Minimum requirements: - 9.4 T superconducting magnet with a minimum helium hold-time of 250 days and nitrogen hold-time of 7 days. - 400 MHz console with a minimum of 2 radiofrequency channels, including pulse generation, pulse amplification, signal amplification and 1 receiver. - Pulsed-field gradient amplifier. - Room temperature shim system supporting gradient shimming. - Variable sample temperature unit, supporting temperatures between -80 and +120 degC. - Liquid-state NMR probe for 5 mm sample tubes, supporting measurement of 1H, 13C, 19F, and X nuclei. Including Z-axis gradient, automated tuning and matching. - Solid-state NMR probe for either 3.2 or 4 mm rotors, supporting measurement of 1H, 13C, 19F and X nuclei. Including automated tuning, matching and magic-angle setting. - Magic-Angle Spinning (MAS) controller supporting spinning speeds of at least 12 kHz. - Automated sample handling unit supporting both 5 mm sample tubes and solid-state rotors. - Acquisition software with perpetual licence. - Delivery, installation and on-site training - Decommissioning, removal and disposal of existing 300 MHz magnet and spectrometer if required. At this time the specification is for a complete system; re-use of components will not be deemed suitable to fulfil the requirement Award The University anticipates initially awarding for; - Device manufactured, delivered into the lab, installed, commissioned and tested by supplier; to be in a fully operable state - User training - 1 year full parts and labour warranty - Remote technical support only for a period of 5 years. The University welcomes suppliers providing details of their enhanced service offerings for comparison.. This was conducted as a mini competition under collaborative framework LAB3162NW
Options: Service may be extended for up to a further 2 years (24 months)
Procurement Information
This was conducted as a mini competition following the procedures of a pre-existing framework LAB3162NW
