Summary of the contracting process

The Common Services Agency, operating under the name Public Service Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland), conducted an open procurement process titled "NP56326 Service for Peritoneal Dialysis Treatments," aimed at providing a homecare delivery service for NHS Scotland patients receiving peritoneal dialysis treatments at home. This procurement covered Health as its primary industry category and included the supply of dialysis machines, sterile dialysate fluids, consumables, and other ancillaries, along with delivery and waste removal services. The procurement process transitioned from planning to tender stage with the tender open from 12 February 2026 to 18 February 2026. The contract award was completed by 24 April 2026, with the procurement being finalised through a framework agreement for goods, structured as a multi-supplier framework across Scotland.

The tender provides significant business opportunities primarily for large-scale suppliers specialising in healthcare logistics and medical supplies. Companies possessing the appropriate certifications in quality assurance and technical standards, such as ISO certifications, along with readiness in sustainability practices, would be well-placed to compete. Large organisations like Vantive Limited and Fresenius Medical Care (UK) Limited were awarded contracts for the provision of dispensing and delivery services, as well as sterile dialysate fluids. This tender not only supports NHS Scotland's operational needs but also encourages suppliers to engage in community benefit initiatives through the NHS Scotland's Community Benefits Gateway. Businesses looking to grow within the Scottish healthcare sector, particularly through adept supply chain management and service delivery, could greatly benefit from such contracts.
