This public procurement record has 1 release in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

The Common Services Agency, known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), has awarded a contract for the supply of Tildrakizumab (Ilumetri®) to NHS Scotland, with Almirall Ltd as the supplier. Classified under the health industry category, this procurement process covers entities outlined by the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978 and those formed under the Public Bodies (Joint Working) Scotland Act. With the procurement method being limited due to exclusive rights, the process bypassed a prior call for competition. The contract was signed on 16 March 2026, marking the transition from the tender to the award stage, and involves a substantial investment of £844,250 GBP. Located in Edinburgh, the buying organisation offers a crucial opportunity for suppliers in the health sector to contribute to Scotland's public health services.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for companies dealing in pharmaceuticals and healthcare supplies, particularly those offering specialised medications under intellectual property rights. Suitable businesses include large pharmaceutical firms capable of satisfying the specialised requirements of NHS Scotland. By engaging in this contract, businesses can solidify their presence in the Scottish healthcare market and potentially expand their influence. Through participation in such contracts, suppliers can leverage long-term framework agreements to ensure consistent and stable demand for their products, thereby fostering growth and development within the sector.

The bringing of court proceedings against the authority during the standstill period will automatically continue the prohibition on entering into the framework agreement until the court proceedings are determined, discontinued or disposed of, or the court, by interim order, brings to an end the prohibition. The remedies that may be awarded by the courts before the framework agreement has been entered into include the setting aside of the decision to award the framework agreement to the winning tenderer. The bringing of court proceedings against the authority after the framework agreement has been entered into will not affect the framework agreement unless grounds for the imposition of special penalties under the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015 can be established. Otherwise, the remedies that may be awarded by the courts where the framework agreement has been entered into are limited to the award of damages",
