Summary of the contracting process

North Lanarkshire Council is currently in the tender stage of procuring consultancy services for phase two of the Single Building Assessments programme, focusing on high-rise properties within the North Lanarkshire area. This procurement process utilises the open procedure and will accept electronic submissions until 31st March 2026. The evaluation of bids will commence immediately afterward. The contract period is slated to start on 30th June 2026 and end on 1st April 2027, with an option of a 12-month extension at the council's discretion. This initiative falls under the General Public Services sector, with specific classifications including services related to building assessment and consultancy.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for consultancy firms endorsed by the Scottish Government, as only those entities are eligible to bid. The project notably covers essential services such as fire risk assessments and may require the provision of additional services like fire engineering and safety evaluations during the contract duration. Companies with experience in fire risk assessments and adherence to standards such as ISO 9001 stand a competitive chance. This tender allows businesses to expand their influence in the local authority sector by engaging in crucial safety assessments and contributing to community benefits, potentially enhancing their portfolio for future opportunities.
