The equipment can only be serviced/maintained by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). Therefore it is appropriate to use this supplier as they have the expertise required to service/maintain the equipment.

Procurement Information

This service contract is required to ensure continuity of service for the respiratory physiology service. The OEM has the expertise necessary to service/maintain the equipment and no other supplier would be able to undertake this work. Quotations were acquired from the OEM with discounts requested for multiyear deals and multiple assets to ensure the best value for money for the board. If a service contract is not in place and in the event of equipment failure, there would be an impact on service provision during equipment downtime and the board would incur repair costs that could have been covered by a contract.
