Notice Title
Electron Probe Microanalyzer
Notice Description
An Electron Probe Microanalyser is a device used to analyse materials at micron scale. It works by firing a beam of electrons at the substance, these electrons cause x-rays to be emitted from the substance, and that characteristic emission can be measured by detectors or generates analytical imaging substance composition. The school of Geosciences is seeking to purchase a new one of these systems. This will be a direct replacement for an existing instrument which has been in-situ since August 2002.
