The College will use the following ratios to assess a bidder's financial standing. Bidders must confirm within the Qualification Envelope that, as a minimum, 2 out of the 3 ratios can be met and provide the value for each ratio. The 3 ratios to be evaluated are: Profitability - profit after tax but before dividends and minority interests. A profit position represents a pass. Gearing - total external borrowing divided by shareholder funds expressed as a percentage. A result of less than or equal to 100% represents a pass. Where 2 out of the 3 ratios cannot be met, the College may consider mitigating factors and supporting evidence provided by the bidder when assessing financial viability and risk. This may include, but is not limited to: Use of prior year accounts; Cash flow position and financial reserves; Parent Company Guarantee; Market conditions; One-off costs or accounting treatments; Auditor going concern status; Debt structure and affordability. The College reserves the right to obtain an Equifax report, or similar financial verification report, to validate the information provided.
