Summary of the contracting process

Glasgow Caledonian University is inviting tenders for the provision of an in-country presence in Kenya, aimed at enhancing the University's marketing and recruitment strategy. This initiative supports the University's goals to meet student recruitment targets across degree levels from UK and international markets, positioning Kenya as a key market with growth potential. The procurement is at the tender stage and follows an open procedure. Business entities may submit their proposals electronically by 12:00 on the 15th of June, 2026. The contract duration is set for 720 days, with potential extensions based on performance. The primary location for operations is Nairobi, Kenya, fitting well with the University's course offerings and strategic expansion goals.

This tender presents substantial growth opportunities, particularly for businesses with expertise in international education marketing and regional representation. Companies experienced in facilitating international student recruitment in East Africa, and familiar with local dynamics, will be well-positioned. With Kenya's growing interest in overseas education, businesses adept at establishing brand presence and recruitment channels in international markets can leverage this tender to expand their services. Potential contractors are expected to deliver high-quality service methodology as well as competitive pricing to meet the University's comprehensive objectives for expanding its educational footprint in Kenya.

Notice Title

Provision of In-Country Presence in Kenya (Glasgow Caledonian University)

Notice Description

The University is seeking a Contractor for the Provision of In-Country Presence in Kenya. The Directorate of Future Students and Marketing key function is to develop, manage and execute the University's marketing and recruitment strategy, enabling the University to achieve student recruitment targets (all degree levels) from UK and international markets, as well as more broadly build and bolster our brand position and levels of recognition.

Lot Information

Lot 1

The University has identified a need for Kenyan Regional presence to support recruitment targets and associated objectives. Kenya is a key diversification market for GCU, offering strong growth potential supported by a young and expanding population and increasing demand for international study. As the largest economy in East Africa, Kenya continues to produce a growing number of students seeking overseas education opportunities. We require an in-country presence to maximise recruitment opportunities for GCU postgraduate courses and to also grow the appeal of GCU undergraduate courses in the market. Based on research and previous experience of the HE sectors; this presence should be in a city hub - ideally Nairobi - as that fits well with our course portfolio and provides the institution with competitive advantage. We are requesting recommendations as how best to resource this.

Renewal: The University reserves the right to extend the Contract for a further 2 x 12 months subject to satisfactory performance and continued University requirements.
