We work to connect key stakeholders, promote sector priorities, and facilitate international and cross-disciplinary collaboration to enhance Scotland's role in the global space ecosystem. The Brief We require a proactive, fully managed communications service that keeps Space Scotland and its members visible, credible, and well-connected across relevant audiences in the UK and internationally. The work spans social media, press and media relations, newsletter management, member engagement, events and speaking opportunities, and broader strategic visibility support. We are looking for a partner capable of exercising editorial judgement on our behalf.

The space sector is non-devolved, technically complex, commercially sensitive, and operates within a distinct regulatory environment. We expect the appointed agency to understand how the sector works, its value chain, its key organisations, its commercial dynamics, and its nuanced policy landscape. This means we are looking for agencies with a genuine, established track record in the space sector or closely adjacent advanced industries. - A minimum of three years' direct experience delivering communications and marketing within the space sector or closely related advanced industries - Demonstrable experience working across industry, government, and academia - International experience within the global space ecosystem - Sector knowledge evidenced through client work - Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical content into accurate, compelling communications for diverse audiences - An established network across the global space economy including media, event organisers, government bodies, and industry stakeholders - Existing relationships with relevant journalists and editors across space, technology, business, and mainstream outlets - A multidisciplinary team with complementary expertise to deliver the proposed work effectively - Familiarity with trade body and membership organisation environments is an advantage Scope of Work Content and Social Media Regular, accurate social media activity across relevant platforms. Sector news, activity and event promotion, member updates, and campaign content. Messaging calibrated for both technical and non-technical audiences and tailored to the platform's key audience. Press and Media Relations Press release writing and distribution. Proactive media pitching across space and aerospace, technology, business, and mainstream outlets. Ongoing journalist relationship management and coverage monitoring. Member Engagement Proactive sourcing of member news and updates for amplification across Space Scotland channels. Regular communication with members to maintain an accurate picture representative of sector activity. Newsletter Monthly newsletter production, curation, and distribution. Subscriber database management. Performance tracking. Events and Speaking Identification and securing of speaking opportunities at space sector events and relevant cross-sector events including energy, finance, agriculture, and technology. Support and training for Space Scotland staff, Working Group Chairs, and member representatives. Strategic Visibility Communications support for key partnerships and strategic initiatives, including, but not limited to, activity involving the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Development International, the UK Space Agency, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, South of Scotland Enterprise, and the Satellite Applications Catapult. Digital and Creative Copywriting, design, website updates, campaign development, and event communications as required. Budget The monthly retainer budget is 2,500 GBP excluding VAT. Proposals should be clear about what is and is not included at this level, and where additional investment would be required for activity outside the core scope. Submissions should include: - Company overview and summary of relevant sector experience - Proposed approach to the work and how you would deliver a consistent communication for Space Scotland - Outline monthly activity plan covering the scope areas detailed above - Minimum of three case studies from space sector or closely related clients - Key personnel and team structure - Proposed approach to reporting and measurement - Fee breakdown Proposals will be assessed on depth and relevance of sector experience and understanding of Space Scotland and Scotland's space ecosystem, the strength of the team, credibility of monthly activity plan and approach to reporting, track record evidenced through case studies, and value within the stated budget.
