Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government has completed a procurement process for the Bright Start Breakfasts Fund Manager service, which falls under the general public services category. This contract has been awarded to Inspiring Scotland, a supplier based in Edinburgh. The contract is valued at GBP 193,370 and is aimed at managing funds to support breakfast clubs throughout Scotland. This procurement was conducted via an open procedure and has reached the award stage, with the contract set to last from 10th June 2026 to 31st July 2027, with an option for extension until July 2028. The service will primarily benefit regions across the United Kingdom (UKM), ensuring the provision of accessible breakfast services to children in need.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for small to medium enterprises (SMEs) specialising in fund management services within the public sector. Companies with expertise in delivering social services and community support could find this contract advantageous, as it aligns with efforts to enhance educational and social welfare services in Scotland. Firms that can effectively manage and allocate funds to drive the rollout of universally accessible breakfast clubs will be well-suited for such opportunities. This project contributes to broader government objectives of social inclusion and support for low-income families, offering businesses a chance to impact societal well-being positively.
