Summary of the contracting process

The Lothian Health Board is inviting tenders for a "Heavy Engineering Maintenance Framework Agreement" to provide services up to GBP 250,000 excluding VAT. This procurement falls under the health industry category and is primarily located in Edinburgh and the Lothians. The procurement process is currently in the tender stage, with a submission deadline of 7th September 2026. The process follows an open procedure method under the main category of services and aims to establish a framework that facilitates the provision of heavy engineering services as per the Instructions to Tenderers (ITT) documents.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in heavy engineering and maintenance services. Companies capable of managing complex estates with similar engineering needs will find this particularly relevant. The framework allows for a maximum of six participants, affording multiple businesses the chance to enter into a long-term agreement with potential subsequent extensions. Businesses that are Safe Contractor registered, have robust quality and environmental management systems, and demonstrate strong safety protocols will be well-suited to compete. Furthermore, this contract encourages community benefits, aligning with public procurement policies to support sustainable growth and development in the region.
