Summary of the contracting process

Renfrewshire Council is currently in the tender stage of a procurement process for the "Museum Wayfinding Design and Fabrication" project, centred around the Paisley Town Centre in the UKM83 region. The council seeks a Lead Designer to act as Designer, Fabricator, and Principal Designer, delivering a wayfinding programme that supports pedestrian navigation with high visual impact, particularly around Paisley Museum which is set for reopening. This open procedure under the goods category requires electronic submissions by 14th August 2026, with the contract award commencing on the same date. The project involves developing and installing bespoke boundary markers, seating, and decluttering existing street furniture, with a focus on community benefits and fair work conditions over a contract period of 180 days.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses with expertise in design, fabrication, and urban wayfinding, especially those with experience in creating visually impactful public space enhancements. By participating in this project, firms can expand their portfolio in public service provision, particularly within the cultural and municipal sectors, enhancing their visibility and reputation in delivering community-oriented projects. Companies that can demonstrate creativity, technical proficiency in design and fabrication, and a commitment to delivering community benefits will be well-positioned to compete for this contract.
