Summary of the contracting process

Public Services Delivery Scotland, the Common Services Agency, plans to renew a national framework for endourology consumables for NHS Scotland. The framework will supply NHS Scotland through the national distribution service or directly to health boards, with delivery across Scotland. The planned product scope covers access sheaths and catheters; endourology guidewires; ureteral stents; dilators, balloons and percutaneous sheaths; stone baskets and other retrieval devices; disposable single-use ureteroscopes; and single-use laser fibres. These products are intended primarily for endourology procedures involving the treatment and removal of kidney stones. The laser fibres may be used with manufacturer machines bought directly by individual health boards. The procurement is for goods and is classified under CPV 33140000, medical consumables.

This procurement is at the planning stage: PSD Scotland has announced an intention to retender the existing NP69321 framework, but has not yet issued an invitation to tender. The buyer expects the tender notice to be released around 6 January 2027. The planned framework is expected to run for four years, with an estimated total value of £9.7 million. The current outline contains seven planned lots covering the product groups described, but PSD Scotland says the lot structure may change before tender.
