Notice Description
Orkney Islands Council ("the Authority") has a requirement for the provision of kerbside collections and associated services, the majority of these provided as a statutory requirement under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (As Amended), for domestic and commercial wastes arising on the Islands of Eday, Sanday, Stronsay, Westray, North Ronaldsay, Papa Westray, Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre within the Orkney Island Group.

Provision of Kerbside Collections and Associated Services for the Island of Sanday
Orkney Islands Council ("the Authority") has a requirement for the provision of kerbside collections and associated services, the majority of these provided as a statutory requirement under the Environment Protection Act 1990 (As Amended), for domestic and commercial wastes arising on the Islands. The Contractor will be required to provide "kerbside" collections, including the delivery of associated consumables to service users, and other services for the Island of Sanday. In summary these services to comprise of the provision of weekly 'kerbside' domestic, commercial and litter bin residual waste collections, provide scheduled special collections of 'bulky' waste items and the supply and delivery of consumables to enable service provision and service user participation.. The new contract will be for a five year duration commencing 20 December 2026 with an initial term of 3 years with the option to extend for a further 2 x 12 months. The value of the contract is estimated over the 5 year duration.
Renewal: Initial term of 3 years with 2 x 12 month options to extend which will be at the discretion of the Council.

The new contract will be for a five year duration commencing 20 December 2026 with an initial term of 3 years with the option to extend for a further 2 x 12 months. The new contract will be for a five year duration commencing 20 December 2026 with an initial term of 3 years with the option to extend for a further 2 x 12 months. The new contract will be for a five year duration commencing 1 January 2027 with an initial term of 3 years with the option to extend for a further 2 x 12 months. The value of the contract is estimated over the 5 year duration.
