Summary of the contracting process

Cairngorms National Park Authority is seeking specialist IT disaster recovery support to review and strengthen how its business continuity arrangements align with IT disaster recovery. The work is intended to address improvements identified in an advisory report and help the Authority implement its recommendations. The aim is a more resilient and proportionate approach to recovering services and maintaining organisational continuity, replacing reliance on informal coordination with a documented framework. This is a professional IT resilience and continuity service (CPV 72000000). The work is for the Park Authority, based in Grantown-on-Spey, and relates to its operations in the Cairngorms National Park area.

The buyer invited offers through an open procedure. The tender set a submission deadline of 4 December 2026 at 10:00 UTC; bids were to be submitted electronically, and the stated language for bids is English. The procurement is arranged as one lot. The contract period is 90 days, with a renewal option described as running up to the end of March 2027. The tender states that variant bids are not allowed. The opening of bids was scheduled for the submission deadline. The tender sets no financial value in the published procurement information. The buyer requires staff names and qualifications to be provided. No award evaluation basis is stated in the procurement information provided.

This opportunity is suited to specialist IT disaster recovery and business continuity consultancies able to assess how the two disciplines work together, identify practical improvements and support an IT team in putting recommendations into effect. Suppliers should be able to help develop a documented approach to recovery and organisational continuity that is resilient but proportionate to the Authority’s needs. The work is focused on advisory support and implementation of recommendations rather than a stated purchase of IT equipment. Bidders need to provide the names and qualifications of the staff they propose for the work. The requirement may suit firms with relevant experience in organisational resilience, business continuity planning and IT disaster recovery, particularly where they can work alongside an in-house IT team.

Lot 1

The Park Authority is seeking specialist support to review and strengthen the alignment between Business Continuity (BC) and IT Disaster Recovery (ITDR) arrangements. While both disciplines are recognised as key components of organisational resilience, existing integration is largely based on operational understanding and informal coordination rather than a fully documented framework. A recent advisory report has identified areas for improvement of the Authority's approach to ITDR. The successful contractor will assist the IT team to implement the recommendations set out in the advisory report. The overall objective is to support the continued development of a resilient and proportionate approach to service recovery and organisational continuity.

Renewal: Up until end of March 2027.
