Provision of Primary Care Sexual and Reproductive Health Services 2026-2029
Description: This process is being carried out in accordance with the procedure for 'Direct Award Process B' under Regulations 6 and 8 of the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For GPs and other Primary Care settings, under the Public Health Enhanced Services (PHES) in primary care offer, there is the opportunity to provide the delivery of Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) for contraceptive purposes, which is outside of the GMS contract. The opportunity does not alter the requirement laid out in the GMS contract for all practices to ensure the routine offer of first line contraceptives; including the provision of general sexual health advice, barrier contraceptives, oral contraceptives and the contraceptive injection.
