Cambridge City Council has set ambitious aspirations for the improvement and transformation of its Civic Quarter in central Cambridge and are proposing to conduct an open tender in January 2025 to identify a Main Contractor as construction partner for the delivery of the projects. The Civic Quarter comprises 3no. schemes including the refurbishment of the Grade II listed Guildhall as the main civic and office space for the Council, the refurbishment of the Grade II listed Corn Exchange and the implementation of an updated vision for the Market Square and surrounding public realm. Tender submissions will be invited on a two-stage design and build basis. The projects are at the start of RIBA stage 3 design, and the contractor will be expected to work with the Council and design team through to a planning submission via a Pre-Contract Services Agreement ahead of entering into a build contract following planning consent and listed building consent being granted. Cambridge City Council is seeking a provider to undertake the following woodland management services: Byron's Pool: • 3.57ha of light thinning (10-15% of canopy) • 0.75ha of regeneration felling (80% of canopy) • 0.14ha of coppice Nine Wells • 0.55ha of heavy thinning (40% of canopy) • 0.42ha of coppice The arisings from these works will be stacked neatly to create habitat piles, if these become excessive then the arisings will be removed from site. Brash will be stacked to reduce the number of unofficial paths across the sites. Approximately 5% of trees to be felled will be "monolithed" to create standing deadwood with coronet cuts to replicate natural branch tears, these trees will be located away from footpaths and public access. The works in these woodlands will be under considerable scrutiny from the public, therefore allowances should be made for time to speak with members of the public and ensure health and safety measures are adhered to. The regeneration felling will require restocking at 1600 stems per hectare, with the following species mix and guarded using non plastic tree shelters: • 30% Hornbeam • 30% Pedunculate Oak • 10% Silver Birch (Nurse crop) • 10% Common Alder (Nurse crop) • 10% Hazel • 5% Crab Apple • 5% Wild Service Tree The contract duration will be 3 years, start and end dates subject to the agreement of both parties. Laundering of Reusable Gowns

The Royal Papworth Hospital are seeking to place a contract for the Laundering, light repairing and splashproof treatment of their non-sterile gowns. These gowns are critical to keep staff and Patients safe, used throughout the hospital in various wards. We launder and treat around 2300 to 2800 gowns a week. The logistics of moving, delivering and packaging the gowns is to be included within this agreement. We anticipate this contract to be for 3 years with two, 12-month options to extend.
1) Requirements
a) The supplier shall provide all management, labour, materials, tools, equipment, and transportation to ensure the laundering and protective coating are provided to all gowns.
b) The supplier shall be responsible for the collection and delivery of the gown, as well as the return of gowns that are beyond repair. If any gowns are lost or damaged during the supplier’s performance, repair or replacement shall be rendered at the expense of the supplier.
c) The supplier assumes liability for any and all property entrusted to them during the laundering process and shall be obligated to protect this property until transferred back to the hospital. The supplier must hold the correct liability insurance.
d) The supplier shall plan for, collect, and process the estimated gown quantities as advised in this specification while meeting the collection and delivery requirements.
e) The cleaning requirements are explained in detail throughout this document.
