A two-year Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Training Framework will officially be launched in Northamptonshire. The Framework has been developed to raise mental health literacy for individuals, organisations and communities living and/or working within Northamptonshire. The programme aims to synthesise training opportunities to improve knowledge and build skills both within the workforce and local population to reduce stigma and discrimination, as well as increase confidence in recognising, referring, and signposting. The programme encompasses promotion of positive mental health and wellbeing, self-help, mental health awareness, suicide prevention and intervention, as well as postvention including bereavement. A tiered approach has been adopted to ensure a variety of training is on offer ranging from awareness sessions to in-depth skills training. Members of the public, frontline workers/ volunteers of voluntary and community sector organisations, health and social care and the local authorities will be able to access the programme free of charge. The Council is seeking one organisation to provide a Carers Support Service across West Northamptonshire. The Council is committed to the delivery of high-quality adult social care services such as support for Carers in West Northamptonshire. The Council wishes to work in partnership with a Provider who can demonstrate and maintain quality standards in line with the Council's Service Specification, which is in line with the Care Act 2014. The Provider will establish a culture of enabling support and empowering Carers to maintain their own health and wellbeing and ensure the Service is aligned to the strategies of the commissioning partners and support the outcomes of carers in West Northamptonshire. The Service will have delegated authority to undertake the Council's statutory duties for Carers as described in The Care Act 2014 and young carers Children and Families Act (2014). The Council is seeking a suitably skilled and experienced provider for the evaluation of adult based service models and care pathways in Northamptonshire that have a preventative focus, with the objective of developing a strategic approach to embedding prevention in to how health and social care will be delivered in Northamptonshire in the future. The specific services in scope for this programme of work include: the Spring social prescribing programme, the Ageing Well programme, the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARSS) funded, GP Social Prescribing programme, and Wellbeing and Social Support services in North Northamptonshire and West Northamptonshire. The Evaluation Partner will be expected to work closely with the strategic partners within the Councils and with partners to identify the necessary data requirements to enable the evaluation of this project.
