NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB are committed to the provision of a high quality Integrated Urgent Care Service which shall include: • Co-located Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) • Walk in Centre • Acute Visiting Service • Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Service; • Clinical Assessment Service (CAS), that are integrated with the other strands of 24/7 urgent and emergency care in Lancashire and South Cumbria which meets the values, rights, obligations and expectations of patients as set out in the NHS Constitution. Integrated Urgent Care Services will be provided to individuals who are, or believe themselves to be, acutely ill with a condition that requires urgent attention, such that their immediate care needs cannot safely be deferred until the next day or to the end of the out of hours period. It is required to be sustainable, based on a service model that is clinically and commercially robust that can attract and retain suitably qualified competent practitioners and integrate with other services. This provision includes the treatment of minor illnesses and injuries at Ormskirk Urgent Treatment and Skelmersdale Walk-in-Centre located within the West Lancashire locality. The service provided will offer a patient-centered Integrated Urgent Care Service accessible either via referral from "111" or via walk-in/self-presentation, delivered by a multi-disciplinary workforce.
