Summary of the contracting process

The National Maritime Museum in London is seeking proposals for the tender titled "GB-London: ROG Animated Educational Videos." This project aims to produce two animated educational videos targeting primary and secondary students, focusing on the Moon and galaxies, respectively. The videos should be two and a half to three minutes long, with a maximum budget of £10,500 per video. Interested parties must submit their quotes and creative responses by 12:00 PM on 26th November 2021, as the contract is expected to commence on 13th December 2021 and conclude by 11th March 2022. The procurement method is an open procedure, and the contract falls under the services category, specifically children's animation services.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for animation studios, particularly those specialising in educational content. Businesses with an annual turnover of at least £50,000 and those that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to compete. The project not only allows businesses to showcase their creative expertise in producing engaging educational materials but also to expand their portfolio within the realm of children's educational media. The ability to collaborate with a prominent institution like the National Maritime Museum further enhances the appeal for potential bidders.

Notice Title

GB-London: ROG Animated Educational Videos

Notice Description

The appointed animation studio/s will design and produce either one or both of the animated educational videos working from scripts that will be developed by the Royal Observatory Greenwich's learning team. They should each be two and a half to three minutes long but will be aimed at different ages. For primary students, the video will be about the Moon, and for secondary students, we will be focussing on galaxies. The video/s should be completed by 11th March 2022. The maximum budget per video is PS10,500. We like to have light-hearted elements in the videos to help our audiences engage with the content and welcome creative input from the animation studio for this, but we need to ensure the content is factually correct and therefore the learning team will provide the script and narration, and will input on the design too. Examples of our existing animated videos can be seen here: www.vimeo.com/royalobservatory To help us select the animation studio/s for our project we are inviting applicants to submit a quote and creative response on the given script sample/s to show us how they would approach animating it, with associated visuals of their animating style. Applicants will need to submit, to the Delta eSourcing Portal, a quote and creative response for each of the videos they wish to pitch for. We reserve the right to award the project to one or two suppliers. Incomplete applications will not be considered. This project is most suitable for companies with annual turnovers of at least PS50 000. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
